I was so excited about finally selling a house that I hated for 13 years and moving out of Tulsa for several reasons, but of course things were not smooth sailing afterward. First of which was with U-Haul.
There were 3 conflicts with my contract, it was originally under my name, but since a friend of mine was going to drive the truck they changed it to his. That wasn’t the problem.
First of all, I had scheduled to pickup the truck at a location a few blocks from my house, but when getting there, I was then informed that it was changed to a different location a couple of miles away, which I didn’t not receive any kind of notice and had to notify my friend while he was en route.
Secondly, I told the young guy at the counter that I wanted to add a couple of hand trucks & other things, which we didn’t realize until getting back to my house they were not on the truck.
Thirdly, upon returning the truck to the location near my new apartment, we were informed that they couldn’t accept it because the primary location gave us the wrong truck. Needless to say, after spending all day moving and that I hadn’t eaten all day, it was a good thing my friend was there to handle the situation.
I’ve never used U-haul before & quite frankly after this one experience, I never will again, I had some great friends who helped me move, but next time, I’m going to pay extra for professional movers if I can afford to do so.
