Being the only child

Very lonely

Spend many hours

Playing solo card games

Finding word searches

Reading books

Was the 70’s & 80’s

Long before

The computer age

Had few friends

But felt closer

To my devoted pup

Wished so much

I had a sibling

To play & share life with

That loneliness

Carried into

My adulthood

Especially without

Someone to love

Except for my sweet kitties
